PVT Bus Owners to receive concessionary loans

COLOMBO (News 1st): The government has decided to issue loans for private bus owners under concessionary interest rates, the Transport Minister said on Wednesday (Feb. 10). "The decision was reached following discussions with the President and state banks; the relevant cheques in this regard will be issued from next Monday (Feb. 15)," Gamini Lokuge, the Minister of Transport told News 1st. Accordingly, private bus owners will be issued a loan of Rs. 300,000 on an interest of 4 percent, to settle the additional expenses. The agreements in this regard will be signed with the relevant banks this week and the loans will be provided next Monday, at the National Transport Commission, Minister Lokuge further added.
