Operations at Badulla MC suspended

COLOMBO (News 1st): The operations at the Badulla Municipal Council were suspended with effect on Wednesday (Feb. 10) via an extraordinary gazette issued by Uva Province Governor A.J.M. Muzammil. According to the extraordinary gazette, H.M. Jeevantha Herath, an officer of Sri Lanka Administrative was appointed as a Special Commissioner to implement powers and perform functions of the Badulla Municipal Council of the Badulla District in the Uva Province with effect from 10th February 2021. Retired Justice - H.M.R. Anura Kumara was appointed to conduct an investigation into the operations of the Badulla Municipal Council; he was was given three-months to investigate and report back to him, Uva Province Governor A.J.M. Muzammil told News 1st on Wednesday (Feb. 10).
