COLOMBO (News1st): A search operation to locate Dinura Wijesundera, a 3D animator attached to Sirasa TV, who had gone missing at the Mini Worlds End in Madolsima is currently underway.

But, no information has been received yet on the missing individual.

A group of 12 individuals including six doctors had accompanied Dinura Wijesundera and spent the night at the Mini Worlds End in Madolsima last Saturday.

However, our correspondent reported that the members in the group had noticed that Wijesundara had been missing as they retreated to their vehicle due to heavy rains and winds

The police and the army then launched a search operation under the assumption that Dinura Wijesundara could have slipped over the observation point on the mountain range.

But a heavy fog prevented rescue teams from locating his whereabouts despite carrying out a search operation running 75 metres from the precipice.

Accordingly, the Army launched a search operation for the second day today in the Kotagama Grama Nildhari division in Bibile.

A team comprising 36 army officers is currently involved in the operation.

Other relevant units have been placed on standby to take the relevant action in the event of any emergency.

The missing individual is a 35-year old resident of Maggona in Kalutara.
