Seven COVID deaths reported on Tuesday (02)

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Director-General of Health Services confirmed that seven COVID-19 deaths were reported in the country on Tuesday (Feb. 02), raising Sri Lanka's COVID-19 death toll to 330. The details of the deceased are as follows: 01. A 67-year-old female from Weligama. She died on 29th January 2021 while receiving treatment at the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned COVID pneumonia. 02. An 82-year-old female from Colombo 15 who passed away on 31st January 2021 at her residence. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia and high blood pressure. 03. A 73-year-old female from Wattegama. She was diagnosed as infected with Covid and transferred from Kandy General Hospital to the Theldeniya Base Hospital, where she died on 31st January 2021. The Cause of death is mentioned as COVID pneumonia, high blood pressure and acute diabetes. 04. An 80-year-old female from Nittambuwa. She was diagnosed as infected with Covid and transferred from a private hospital in Colombo to Pimbura Base Hospital, where she died on 1st February 2021. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID pneumonia, lack of blood, diabetes and a heart condition. 05. A 77-year-old male from Gelioya. He was transferred from the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital to the Theldeniya Base Hospital where he died on 1st February 2021. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID pneumonia, blood poisoning, acute diabetes, high blood pressure and a kidney condition. 06. An 18-month old baby from Colombo 02, who passed away at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital on 1st February 2021. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID pneumonia. 07. A 32-year-old male from Ragama. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid at a private hospital in Ragama, and transferred to Mulleriyawa Base Hospital and then to Karapitiya Teaching Hospital, where he died on 2nd February 2021 while receiving treatment at the ICU. The cause of death is mentioned as severe COVID pneumonia, high blood pressure and asthma. Meanwhile, another 715 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in the country on Tuesday (02), raising Sri Lanka's COVID-19 caseload to 65,698. There are 6325 active COVID-19 patients receiving treatment, while 59,043 have recovered, according to the statistics released by the Epidemiology Unit at the Ministry of Health.
