5,289 Tri-Forces Personnel Promoted Ahead of War Heroes Day

COLOMBO (News 1st); A total of 5,289 officers of the Tri-Forces have been granted promotions to their next ranks in line with the 17th National War Heroes Commemoration Day, which falls tomorrow.

The promotions have been carried out in accordance with recommendations made by the respective service commanders and in line with established administrative procedures of the Tri-Forces.

The Ministry of Defence stated that National War Heroes Day is commemorated annually on May 19 in recognition of the invaluable service rendered by members of the Tri-Forces in securing a peaceful era within the country.

In parallel with the 17th anniversary of the war victory, the National Victory Day Commemoration will be held tomorrow under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

The ceremony is scheduled to take place in front of the War Heroes Memorial in Battaramulla.
