COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka Police on Thursday (Jan. 28) urged the general public to come forward and provide information to the 1997 Special Centre established in order to gather information concerning the country's national security.
"You can provide any information related to drug trafficking, criminal gangs, criminals or any other crimes to the Special Centre by via 1997. Kindly provide information concerning the country's national security," Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana requested the public.
A special centre was established by Sri Lanka Police on 27th July 2020 to gather the information that concerns national security, including information on drug trafficking, narcotic deals and criminal gangs.
According to the Deputy Police Chief, police officers are deployed at the 1997 centre to receive information in respect of drug trafficking, drug dealers, wanted individuals and organised criminal gangs that relate to the national security of Sri Lanka.
