COLOMBO (News 1st): The validity period of driver’s licenses that expires between January to March has been extended by another three months, given the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Motor Traffic said on Saturday (Jan. 23).
The validity period of driver’s licenses that are set to expire in January, February and March this year, will be extended by three months from the date of expiration, Sumith Alahakoon, the Commissioner-General of Motor Traffic told News 1st.
“A gazette notification bearing the signature of the Subject Minister was issued with regard to the extension of the validity period once again, taking into account the prevailing situation due to COVID-19, which has restricted operations at the Department of Motor Traffic,” Sumith Alahakoon further noted.
