COLOMBO (News 1st): A total of 1.2 million PCR tests were conducted so far in the country, Army Commander General Shavendra, the Head of the National Operations Centre for the Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) said. "Yesterday, they have done 14,294 PCR tests and found 669 positive cases. Up to now, we have conducted 1.2 million PCR tests," Army Commander General Shavendra Silva told News 1st on Wednesday morning (Jan. 20). A total of 669 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Sri Lanka on Tuesday (Jan. 19), raising the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country to 54,419. There are 7555 active COVID-19 patients receiving treatment, while 46,594 have recovered, according to the statistics released by the Epidemiology Unit at the Ministry of Health.
