State officials can work genuinely: PM

COLOMBO (News1st): Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has said state officials will be allowed to work genuinely under the government. "We will not allow committed officials to be taken to courts like in the past," Rajapaksa said in a discussion at Temple Trees on Thursday. The discussion had been held to apprise state officials on the "Discussion with Villagers" programme carried out by the government. Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and Basil Rajapaksa who heads the presidential task force on economic revival and poverty were present.
