HEAVY SHOWERS EXCEEDING 100 MM LIKELY TODAY (27)

COLOMBO (News 1st): Showery weather is expected over most parts of the island, due to the low-level atmospheric disturbances in the vicinity of Sri Lanka, said the Natural Hazards Early Warning Centre at the Department of Meteorology. In an Advisory for Heavy Rain issued at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday (Dec. 27), the Department of Meteorology said showers are likely at times in the Northern, Eastern, North-Central, Uva, Central, and North-Western provinces. Heavy showers exceeding 100 mm are also likely at some places.
