COLOMBO (News 1st): Sri Lanka Police have deployed police officers in mufti and in uniform to maintain law & order and quarantine rules and regulations, police said on Monday (Dec. 21).
“The police officers deployed in mufti would collect information about the violation of quarantine rules and regulations or the traffic rules; thereafter, they will pass the information to the nearest police station. Accordingly, police officers would act and detect the wrong-doers,” Police Spokesperson – DIG Ajith Rohana said on Monday (Dec. 21).
According to the Police Spokesperson, Sri Lanka Police will implement this strategy for the coming fortnight period in order to apprehend the lawbreakers in respect of motor traffic law and quarantine rules and regulations.
“Therefore, where ever you are, you must wear a face mask and respect the social distancing concept. In addition to that ensure road safety and security. Don’t be a victim of a road traffic accident,” the Deputy Police Chief further emphasized.
