DECISION ON RE-OPENING SCHOOLS IN WP TODAY (21)

COLOMBO (News 1st): A final decision with regard to the re-opening of schools in the Western province will be announced today (Dec. 21) by Subject Minister, Prof. G.L. Peiris, the Ministry of Education said. Discussions were held with health authorities on the re-opening and continuous operations of schools in the Western province following the containment of COVID-19, Prof. Kapila Perera, the Secretary to the Education Ministry said on Monday (Dec. 21). Information was also obtained from the Zonal Directors of Education and the Divisional Directors of Education regarding the situation in those areas.
