COLOMBO (News 1st): A 43-year-old COVID-19 patient who was receiving treatment at the National Hospital for Respiratory Diseases, in Welisara has left the hospital without authorization, Sri Lanka Police said on Wednesday (Dec. 16).
A special operation is underway to locate him, Police Spokesperson - DIG Ajith Rohana said.
The patient has given an address in Maradana at the time of admission, which turned out to be fake, DIG Ajith Rohana noted.
According to Police, information has come to light he is a resident of the Grandpass area and the Mahabage Police are currently conducting investigations in co-ordination with other police stations, to locate the patient.
The 43-year-old patient, who is addicted to narcotics is also suffering from Tuberculosis, the Deputy Police Chief further said.
