02 dead after consuming spirit in Meerigama

Colombo (News 1st); The Meerigama Police is investigating two suspicious death reported from the Motte-Watte area in Keenadeniya, said Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana on Tuesday (15). According to witness accounts, four people attending a funeral in the area had consumed a bottle of alcoholic spirit on Monday (15) night and thereafter had fallen in. Three of them were admitted to the Meerigama Base Hospital and two of them, brothers aged 54 and 48 were reported dead. The Meerigama Police arrested the person who had brought the bottle of spirit and he was identified as a neighbor.
