COLOMBO (News1st): A medical expert has denied the existence of a mental ailment drug colloquially known as “reverse” after government lawmakers cited it as a cause for the unrest at the Mahara prison. Lawmakers and some state officials have claimed that inmates acted violently after consuming the drug during the unrest that erupted on Monday, killing 11 and injuring more than 100. "...those making these claims are disrespecting medical science, and people with psychological illnesses," Ravi Kumudesh, the president of the Association of Government Medical Laboratory Technologists said. He emphasized that drugs for mental disorders increase drowsiness and do not invoke violence.
