Curfew in Gothatuwa, Mulleriyawa from 7 pm today

COLOMBO (News1st): Quarantine curfew will be imposed in the Gothatuwa and Mulleriyawa areas from 7 pm on Saturday, authorities said. The curfew in these police jurisdictions will be in effect until further notice, the national centre for the prevention of COVID-19 outbreak noted. "...we are going to deploy additional police officers in areas that are under curfew," police spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said. He added that individuals who travel unlawfully in these areas would be taken into custody. A total of 51 police jurisdictions are currently under curfew in the country. "The curfew in the Beruwala, Payagala, and Aluthgama areas,  will be lifted at 5 am on Monday," the police spokesman told the media.
