COLOMBO (News 1st): The number of dengue cases reported so far this year has increased to 78,125.
The highest number of patients continues to be reported from the Gampaha and Colombo districts.
During the first 21 days of this month alone, 22,749 dengue cases have been reported across the country.
The National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU) stated that 56 dengue deaths have also been reported during this period.
According to the NDCU, 162 Medical Officer of Health (MOH) divisions across the island have been further designated as high-risk dengue zones.
The NDCU added that special dengue control programs are being continuously implemented in 63 high-risk dengue MOH divisions.
