COLOMBO (News 1st); The Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court today reissued reminder notices to the Chief Judicial Medical Officer, directing that the post-mortem examination report related to the death of former SriLankan Airlines Chief Executive Officer Kapila Chandrasena be submitted to court without further delay.
The case was taken up before Colombo Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena.
During proceedings, officers of the Colombo Crimes Division, which is conducting investigations into the death deemed suspicious, informed court that several Government Analyst's reports required for the preparation of the post-mortem report had already been forwarded to the Chief Judicial Medical Officer.
Investigators stated that only one Government Analyst's report had so far been officially submitted to the Judicial Medical Officer, while several other reports remain outstanding and are yet to be received.
They further informed the court that all relevant analyst reports must be obtained in full before the Judicial Medical Officer can finalize and submit the post-mortem examination report relating to the deceased.
After considering the submissions made by investigators, the Magistrate ordered that reminder notices be issued once again to the Chief Judicial Medical Officer, calling for the prompt submission of the post-mortem report.
The court also issued reminders to the relevant authorities, directing that the pending Government Analyst's reports connected to the death investigation be expedited and submitted without delay.
The case has been scheduled to be called again on August 19.
