No plan on imposing islandwide curfew - police

COLOMBO (News1st): A curfew was imposed in the Katunayake police jurisdiction on Thursday, police said. "Airport and airline employees and workers involved in providing services to the airport can report to work using their employee ID card," police spokesman Ajith Rohana said. He pointed out that shops and pharmacies have been instructed to remain closed in areas that are under curfew. Meanwhile, the police spokesman rejected rumours of a possible lockdown across the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic. "...we have not made such a decision," Rohana told reporters.
