Isolated areas in Mannar re-opened; Army Commander

Colombo (News 1st); The Pattithottam & Periyakadei areas in Mannar which were declared as isolated villages were re-opened at 1800 hours on Monday (12) said Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army who is also the Head, National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

The Pattithottam & Periyakadei areas in the Mannar District were declared as isolated villages to contain the spread of Covid-19 on Sunday (11).

The lockdown order came after several carpenters working at a construction site at the Mannar Bishop House tested positive over the weekend.
