Close to 400 contacts of COVID-19 positive case in Divulapitiya, identified: PHI Union of Sri Lanka

COLOMBO (News 1st): Close to 400 close contacts of the 39-year-old woman who tested positive for COVID-19 in Divulapitiya have been identified so far, The Public Health Inspectors' Union of Sri Lanka said on Sunday (Oct. 04). "Close to 100 people from 20 families were already quarantined and contract tracing is still underway," Mahendra Balasuriya, the PHI Union’s Secretary told News 1st on Sunday. He further noted the family members of the infected person were directed for quarantine at the Habaraduwa quarantine centre by security forces. PHI Secretary Mahendra Balasuriya emphasized that there was no reason for the people to panic regarding the present situation; however, urged the people to follow health guidelines and not to conceal information.
