Gunmen Target Police Sergeant’s Home in Beliatta

COLOMBO (News 1st); A house belonging to a police sergeant attached to the Dickwella Police has come under gunfire in Beliatta.

Police said the shooting occurred on Wednesday night when unidentified assailants arrived at the location on a motorcycle and opened fire at the residence before fleeing the area.

According to investigators, a bullet struck the gate of the house. 

Preliminary investigations have led police to believe that the attack may have been carried out in connection with a land dispute.
