COPE to commence sessions on government bodies from 06th October

Colombo (News 1st); Officers from multiple government bodies will be summoned to the Committee On Public Enterprises or COPE from the 06th of October.

COPE Chairman Professor Charitha Herath said officers from Lanka Coal (PVT) LTD will appear on the 06th of October for an inquiry-based on the Auditor General's Special Audit Report in relation to the procurement of coal for the Norochcholai Coal Power Plant since the year 2009.

On the 08th of October, officers from the Lakvijaya Power Plant will appear at COPE to discuss the findings of the Auditor General's Special Audit Report in relation to the importance of the Power Plant and the impact on the environment.

Findings on the Feasibility Study & Procurement Process of the Central Expressway will be subject to discussion on the 20th of October.

The Chairman of COPE said the Road Development Authority and the Project Management Unit of the Central Expressway will appear on the 20th of October.

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board, Board of Investment of Sri Lanka, Local Government Institutions, and the Central Environment Authority will appear at COPE on the 21st of October with respect to the Environment Audit Report on the contamination of the Kelani River.

Professor Charitha Herath said the Coconut Development Authority, Coconut Cultivation Board, and Coconut Research Institute will appear on the 23rd of October.
