Total COVID-19 cases in Sri Lanka at 3345, 12 new cases confirmed on Friday

COLOMBO (News 1st): 12 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Sri Lanka on Friday (Sept. 25), the latest figures published by the Epidemiology Unit at the Ministry of Health show.  "The new cases were confirmed on two people who had returned from the United Arab Emirates, six from Qatar, a Naval officer from Albania, and three arrivals from Ukraine," the Government Information Department said. Accordingly, the total number of confirmed cases of COVID 19 in Sri Lanka has risen to 3345. Of these, 3186 patients have recovered, while 146 patients continue to receive treatment. Meanwhile, according to Chief Epidemiologist - Dr. Sudath Samaraweera there have been no locally transmitted cases of COVID-19 in Sri Lanka since August 2nd.
