Ex-Governor Keerthi Tennakoon also filed a petition challenging 20A

Colombo (News 1st); Former Governor Keerthi Tennakoon filed a special determination petition with the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka seeking a determination claiming the proposed 20th Amendment to the Constitution is in violation of the Constitution of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

The Petition states a determination be made in order to pass the bill a two-thirds majority and a referendum is required.

The Attorney General was named as the respondent in the application and a total of 07 petitions were filed with the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka
