COLOMBO (News 1st): More than 1000 drivers who violated the Traffic Lane Law in Colombo were identified by confirming the ownership of license plate numbers registered at the Motor Traffic Department, Sri Lanka Police said on Wednesday (Sept. 23).
The identified motorists will be called to the Police Field Force Headquarters on Saturday (Sept. 26) at 9:00 am, to be advised on the Traffic Lane Law, SSP Indika Hapugoda – the Director of Motor Traffic and Road Safety of Sri Lanka Police said.
SSP Hapugoda further noted that the decision to limit the Bus Priority Lane for Passenger Transport Buses, Office/ School Transport Buses and Vans starting today, was a success.
According to SSP Indika Hapugoda, additional officers have been deployed to monitor whether the Traffic Lane Law is adhered to by motorists.
