COLOMBO (News 1st): A program is currently underway to provide coconuts to the people at concessionary prices through the Coconut Cultivation Board, the Coconut Cultivation Board (CCB) said.
Accordingly, measures are underway to sell coconuts to the general public at a price of Rs. 60 using mobile vehicles, since Tuesday (Sept. 22).
“This program will be implemented in all major towns,” Arundika Fernando, the State Minister of Coconut, Kithul, Palmyrah, and Rubber Cultivation Promotion and Related Industrial Product Manufacturing & Export Diversification said.
State Minister Fernando emphasized that coconuts will not be imported under any circumstances.
