Rev. Fr. Ernest Poruthota bids adieu

COLOMBO (News1st) : The remains of Rev. Fr. Ernest Poruthota, who rendered a yeoman service to Sri Lanka's cinema industry, will be kept at the Archbishop's House until 6:30 pm on Wednesday. Archbishop of Colombo His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith paid his last respects to the reverent father this afternoon. His remains will be taken to the St. Philip Neri's Church in Kalutara following which the final rites will take place on June 18 at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Katukurunda. Rev. Fr. Poruthota rendered a yeoman service to Sri Lanka's cinema industry and the field of mass media and communication studies. He passed away at the age of 88 while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo.
