National Parks re-opened for visitors

National Parks & Zoological Gardens now officially re-open for visitors

Colombo (News 1st);  All zoological gardens and national parks in Sri Lanka were opened for visitors from today.

Director-General of Wildlife Chandana Sooriyabandara speaking to News 1st said the Udawalawa, Minneriya, Kaudulla, Wilpattu, and Pigeon Island National Parks will be open for visitors from today.

Visitors who had already booked accommodation can make a new reservation for any day convenient for them and the available days are published on the Department of Wildlife Conservation website.

The Wilpattu National Park was opened at 06 AM today and visitors were admitted to the premises after following necessary health procedures.

A similar process was adopted at the Udawalawa National Park, the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, and the Ridiyagama Safari Park.
