COLOMBO (News1st): The government has announced that a curfew will be imposed in all districts except for the high-risk zones from Thursday until May 4, sending the country into an island-wide curfew.
“The curfew which will be imposed at 8 pm on April 30 will be in effect until 8 am on May 4,” the President’s Office said in a statement.
Previously, the government had extended the curfew imposed in the high-risk districts of Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, and Puttalam until May 4.
The curfew in the remaining districts had been lifted daily from 5 am to 8 pm since April 27.
