Dry rations to be provided to people stranded in Colombo

A decision has been reached to provide dry rations to those trapped in the Western Province following the COVID-19 outbreak. A request has been made from the Treasury to provide the necessary funds to the relevant District Secretaries, the Presidential Task Force on Economic Revival and Poverty Eradication said. Steps have been taken to distribute the dry ration together with the assistance of the relevant Grama Niladharis and the Police. The program is being carried under the full supervision of the Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara District Secretaries.
