COLOMBO (News1st): Sri Lankan health officials reported another death due to COVID – 19 in the country late Wednesday, bringing the death toll due to the virus upto three.
The deceased had died on admission to the IDH Hospital after he was transferred from the Sri Jayawardenepura Hospital, Director General of Health Services Dr Anil Jasinghe said.
He had been suffering from health conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and also kidney failure.
Health authorities noted that the patient, a 72-year old resident of Maradana, was among the three people who tested positive for the virus on Wednesday.
So far, 146 people have been diagnosed with the virus in the country, with the number of recovered patients standing at 21.
Currently, 123 people suspected to have contracted the virus are under medical observation.
