COLOMBO (News1st): All pharmacies will be kept open during the period of the curfew, the Ministry of Health said in a statement on Tuesday adding that the Ministry of Health has requested the Acting IGP to permit the transportation of medicines and employees of pharmacies while the curfew is in effect. The ministry said that this decision has been made to avoid inconveniences that would have to be faced by people who purchase medicines from clinics and pharmacies on a daily basis. Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi has informed the Acting Inspector General of Police Chandana Wickramaratne to make arrangements to facilitate this provision, the statement noted. Further, the minister had also informed the acting police chief to accept a medical report or a prescription issued by a doctor as a pass for those travelling to pharmacies.
