Happy International Women’s Day to women pushing boundaries worldwide

COLOMBO (News 1st):- Women play a vital role in society as a mother, a daughter, a sister and a grandmother enhancing the foundation to a stable society. What defines a Generation of Women? From an estate worker to an Entrepreneur who lives through different circumstances and cross over different hurdles to get to where they are today. The fight for women's rights and justice is shared in a global and regional everyday push to attain it. From suffering violence and discrimination, facing gender wage gaps, routinely being denied access to education and healthcare and moreover the drive for political participation of women in the parliament. We have come a long way, the role of a woman in society has significantly changed during recent decades. Women are the key to preserve the human race and in today's world, the importance of women in society is beyond any suspicion. According to the United Nations, legal restrictions have kept 2.7 billion women from accessing the same choice of jobs as men. Less than 25% of parliamentarians were women, as of 2019. One in three women experiences gender-based violence.
