Colombo (News 1st) - Leader of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna, Anura Kumara Dissanayaka alleges that changes in the local political establishment, are influenced by foreign forces. Dissanayake addressing a National People's Power rally in Anuradhapura noted that this Government claimed that they were going to form an anti-US and anti-Indian administration. The JVP leader went onto note that Ranil Wickremesinghe is more American than actual Americans and that he would effortlessly follow the commands of US Presidents. However even though Ranil was pro-US and pro Indian he couldn't get much done, this is because he was weak. The MP went onto note that the United States of America understood Ranil's weakness and came to understand that he could never sign the MCC agreement of SOFA. Dissanayake believes that ACSA would have been dead in the water if Gotabaya Rajapaksa had not gotten it signed previously in 2007. Dissanayake went onto state that Mahinda Rajapaksa removed an Indian Company from the tender to construct the Norocholai power plant and awarded it to a Chinese company. He claimed that this is the same company that the New York Times linked to campaign finances in Sri Lanka. India was miffed by this decision, according to the MP, and as a result of this Mahinda Rajapaksa awarded the Sampur project to India. He went onto state that the Sampur project never kicked off because there was too much opposition and because Ranil was too weak to get it done. The JVP leader believes that the foreign forces supported the Rajapaksa's once again, in order to fulfill their objectives. "What did the government say about the MCC before coming to power? They urged the general public to vote for them, to defeat the MCC. Now the present government wants time to study the MCC. They are trying to buy time, to sign the agreements after the elections. The government can cancel the ACSA agreement, in protest against the travel restrictions imposed on our army commander. But the government would never say this. They will only agree to sign these agreements. They are patriots only for show." - Anura Kumara Dissanayake
