Colombo (News 1st): Another phase of the series of rallies organized to extend gratitude to those who supported the United National Party presidential candidate in last year’s election was held in Wilgamuwa, Matale today (Jan 25).

This rally was organized by the electoral organizer of the Laggala electorate, MP Rohini Kumari Wijeratne. Several party members including UNP MPs of the Matale district, Ranjith Aluvihare, and Wasantha Aluvihare were present.

Speaking at the rally Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa noted;

“We will never betray our supporters. We will go forward and face the upcoming general election with a broader alliance. We are prepared to lead this alliance. We will not betray our members for titles and positions. Though they speak of prosperity, there is political vengeance taking place inside the country. But I make this very clear, when we establish a government, we will empathize and provide relief to victims of political vengeance.”
