Colombo High Court issues notices on former minister Rajitha Senaratne

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Notices have been issued on former Minister Rajitha Senaratna to appear in court on the 17th of this month. Notices were issued by the Colombo High Court Judge Manjula Thilakerathne. The Colombo High Court issued notices on the former minister after deciding to take up the revision application filed against bail granting of the former Minister Rajitha Senaratne. Rajitha Senaratne, the third suspect in the white van media briefing case was arrested on the 27th of last month while he was receiving treatment at a private hospital in Narahempita. The Colombo Chief Magistrate granted bail to the former Minister on the 30th of last month. The Attorney General filing the revision application has requested the court to revise the order for bail issued by the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court and place former Minister Rajitha Senaratne in remand custody as the suspects were granted bail within three days without even recording a statement from the suspect.
