COLOMBO (News 1st):- The Ministry of Health states that the number of dengue patients has increased in over five districts due to the prevalent rains.
National Dengue Control Unit Director Dr. Anura Jayasekara said that the increased number of patients have been reported from the Colombo, Gampaha, Jaffna, Kandy, and Mathale districts. The number of patients recorded within the year so far stands at 87,364. The Health Ministry states that this number is a sharp increase of 35,705 patients from the same time period in 2018.
So far, 90 people have been died due to the dengue epidemic.
