COLOMBO (News 1st):- The Ceylon Teachers Union claims that most of the teachers who were deployed for paper-marking during the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examinations 2019 have not yet received their due payment. Chief Secretary of the Union, Joseph Starlin said that the relevant officials should take necessary measures to make the due payments as soon as possible.
When News 1st inquired from the Department of Examinations in this regard, the Commissioner-General of Examination, Sanath B. Pujitha said that the matter was delayed due to certain shortcomings in the payment system. He also mentioned that most teachers were not paid the due amount as of now.
