COLOMBO (News 1st): The gazette notification that prohibited the use of paddy and rice for animal feed production has been revoked.
The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) announced that an Extraordinary Gazette notification has been issued to formally cancel the previous restrictions.
As a result, the use of rice or paddy in the direct manufacture of animal feed, or as an input in the production of animal feed by any other means, will once again be permitted.
The revocation also allows the sale, offering for sale, stockpiling, storage, transportation, distribution, and purchase of rice and paddy for use in animal feed production.
According to the Extraordinary Gazette issued by the Consumer Affairs Authority, the decision is deemed effective from June 24.
