Police to seek the assistance of Tri forces in drug raids

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Authorities have been concerned about seeking the assistance of the Tri-forces in order to make drug raids more efficient. According to the Police, discussions in this regard are already underway with the Sri Lanka Army. The police stated that steps will be taken to obtain advice from the Attorney General's Department regarding the legal implications of obtaining assistance from the Tri-Forces, to conduct drug raids. According to the police, 70% of the narcotics had been smuggled into the country through illegal sea routes. It has been revealed that narcotics are smuggled into the country from other countries such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Myanmar, Thailand, China, India, Peru, and Brazil. Police said that they would take steps in the future to further solidify the process set in place to control the flow of illegal narcotics into the country.
