Vijith Wijayamuni Zoysa accused of supporting the UNP

Colombo (News 1st): The disciplinary committee of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party convened once again today (November 23) at the Party Headquarters. Vijith Wijayamuni Zoysa, who was accused of violating party discipline, was summoned to the committee today. Vijith Wijayamuni Zoysa who was summoned to the committee did not arrive, and instead presented facts through his lawyer. The Lawyer representing Vijith Wijayamuni Zoysa Attorney-at-Law Dinesh Vidanapathirane noted that Zoysa has been accused of supporting the United National Party in a manner that tarnished the image of the SLFP. He added that they marked certain images and videos in this regard and later provide them with copies of those documents. Attorney-at-Law Vidanapathirane noted that they requested some time to solve the cross-questions in this regard.

Attorney-at-Law Dinesh Vidanapathirane: He will be present the next day. As his lawyer, I joined today's proceedings. Journalist: Is Vijith Wijayamuni Zoysa a member of the UNP or SLFP? Attorney-at-Law Dinesh Vidanapatirane: I have not being informed regarding that matter. I have only being advised to attend to matters regarding the disciplinary committee.
A Member of the Disciplinary Committee Attorney-at-Law Dhanajit de Silva noted that they have commenced the process to gather evidence regarding disciplinary inquiries. He added that they have postponed disciplinary inquiry proceedings to December 7th at 12:00 in the afternoon. Meanwhile, S.B.Dissanayaka, Dilan Perera and Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena were summoned by the SLFP disciplinary committee on the 5th of last month. However, all three MPs were not present and were represented by their respective lawyers. In addition, A.H.M Fowzie has also being accused of violating party regulations.
