Colombo (News 1st): MP Udaya Gammanpila in a letter to the President noted he would not accept any ministerial portfolio in the Interim Government. In his letter, Gammanpila says among the group who supported the President are 08 Former Cabinet Minister anticipating Cabinet positions.
He added many district leaders are also anticipating Cabinet positions in the interim government. Gammanpila says though it was initially proposed to form a Cabinet of 10 members, it was a tough decision to limit it to even 15 members.
Gammanpila went on to say, considering difficulties the President and the Prime Minister faced in preparing the Cabinet, he decided not to accept a cabinet position.
