Army removes roadblocks in North based on Police request

COLOMBO(News 1st) - Police media spokesperson SSP Ruwan Gunasekara notes that they have called on senior military officials not to deploy military personnel on the roads today or tomorrow without permission from the Chairman of the Election Commission. When News1st questioned the Police spokesperson regarding the establishment of roadblocks in the Northern province, he noted that several roadblocks established in the areas of Palei and Palali have been removed following instructions from the police. He further added that the senior military officials in the area had stated that they were not informed of this matter before.
