Public cannot trust GR's manifesto - CBK

Colombo (News 1st): Former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga speaking to the public in Ampara today (November 13) noted that she looked at both manifestos closely and that the public cannot trust anything the Gotabaya Rajapaksa says. . While stating clearly that she supports the alliance known as the National Democratic Front, the former President noted that she is not supporting the UNP directly.She noted SLFP Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekara is a person who has jumped from party to party. She added that it is the same with Wasantha Senanayake, the grandchild of D.S. Senanayake. She went onto state that Gotabaya Rajapaksa is someone who is proud, but Sajith Premadasa is not a person like that. She noted that Sajith is humble and has always consulted experienced people when he doesn't know something. Meanwhile, former Minister Kumara Welgama addressed the residents of Kala Weva, Anuradhapura. Welgama stated that each political party had it's own identify thanks to its founding members. He explained that the UNP had D.S. Senanayake, the SLFP had S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike while the Samasamaja party had Prof. N.M. Perera. While noting that Mahinda Rajapaksa is a wonderful man who is loved, Welgama stated that Rajapaksa does not have a legacy to leave behind in terms of a party adding that he is woring to destroy the SLFP so that the SLPP can come into its own. Welgama went onto state that he would not vote for the Pohottuwa as he wants to protect the SLFP. He assured that he will use his vote, but won't vote for a man who has passed 70. He added that he will vote for someone younger.
