Deadline for temporary IDs extended

COLOMBO(News 1st) - The deadline for the acceptance of applications for temporary IDs has been extended to the 12th of November. The Commissioner-General of the National Elections Commission, Saman Sri Ratnayaka said that this decision was taken following a discussion yesterday(November 10). Meanwhile, the Department for Registration of Persons said that they had issued 300,000 temporary IDs and handed them over to the Elections Commission. The Commissioner-General of the Elections Commission stated that the temporary IDs will be distributed to the relevant individuals via Grama Sevaka Offices islandwide.
