Triple homicide: Killer receives death sentence after 7 years

COLOMBO(News 1st) - The Colombo High Court today sentenced an individual to death for murdering his wife and two children. The accused, Madhura Manaranga, on December 17th, 2012, had strangled his 36-year -old wife to death, a 3-year-old child, and a one-month-old child and proceeded to burn their bodies. The Attorney General filed a case in the Colombo High Court against the murders. The death sentence was imposed by Colombo High Court judge Vikum Kaluarachchi as the charges against the accused were proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
