Thilanga Sumathipala appointed as a COPE member

Colombo (News 1st): Thilanga Sumathipala has been appointed as a member of the Committee on Public Enterprises, following the demise of Chandrasiri Gajadeera. Speaking in parliament Deputy Speaker Ananda Kumarasiri noted that Thilanga Sumathipala will be appointed as a COPE member to fill the vacancy at the Committee on Public Enterprises following the demise of Chandrasiri Gajadeera, under the standing order 127 (3) Parliamentary Select Committee. Following the statement made by the Deputy Speaker, JVP raised objection over naming Thilanga Sumathipala as a member of COPE.
