Colombo (News 1st): Presidential candidate of the Sri Lanka Socialist Party Ajantha Wijesinghe Perera and Attorney at law Nagananda Kodithuwakku convened a media briefing at Maradana today (October 18). Speaking at the briefing civil activist Nagananda Kodithuwakku noted that based on the current situation, the probability of the two main presidential candidates emerging first and second is very high. He noted that they have a huge responsibility to identify those who will be a threat to our country and defeat them. He said those who speak of security, those from the SLPP, they are the ones who signed the SOFA agreement with the USA in 2007. Kodithuwakku went onto note that the SOFA agreement put forward in 2018, is even more detrimental. Adding to this Presidential Candidate of the Sri Lanka Socialist Party Ajantha Wijesinghe Perera questioned as to what the general public expects from a president? She noted that every day they live in fear, worried that foreign forces are going to taking over our motherland. She questioned what is the reason for such a situation? She said because Sri Lankan leaders looted from the loans and funds obtained from foreign parties. Ajantha Wijesinghe Perera noted that every candidate contesting the upcoming presidential election is not rich, they have no wealth to inherit. She questioned; "How do they find money to bring in buses filled with people? Why can't the Elections Commission look into these matters?" She noted that this is a huge obstruction to develop a country. --
