Polythene kills elephant in Ampara

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A wild elephant in the Pallakadu forest in Achchalachchena, Ampara has died due to the consumption of polythene. Meanwhile, an elephant calf that had fallen into an unprotected well in Alakola, Dambulla has been rescued. Officials of the Sigiriya Wildlife Office said the calf was rescued and released into the reserve.
